When I chose to escape from the prison of my own choosing - my employment career, I faced many things along the way and still continue to face them...

Some appreciated my courage. Some told me I do not have it in me to do this. I just kept doing what I set out to do.

Some appreciated my photographs. Some made fun of how I look. I just kept doing what I set out to do.

Some were amazed of my choices and my achievements. Some said it was just pure luck. I just kept doing what I set out to do.

Some expressed amazement at my age. Some made jokes about my age. I just kept doing what I set out to do.

Some loved my simplicity. Some tried to take advantage of my simplicity, mistaking it to be my naivety. I just kept doing what I set out to do.

Some supported me in their own simple ways. Some outright tried to sabotage my efforts. I just kept doing what I set out to do.

Some wanted to get close to me to be inspired. Some tried getting close to me for perverse enjoyment of getting their supply of gossip-able stuff. I just kept doing what I set out to do.

And the list goes on and on....

I just kept doing what I set out to do and continue doing what I have set out to do.
