I do not coach. It coaches all by itself - A metaphor for coaching.
This entire scene is about letting go of who you think you are, what you think you are supposed to do, your false image and worst enemy - EGO
"To have no technique" - have no preference on what you THINK you can use in coaching
"There is no opponent (client) because the word "I" does not exist" - You, as the coach do not exist. Destroy the notion that you as a coach exist, that you are responsible for doing anything.
"A good martial artist (coach) does not become tense but ready" - Be ready but do not be under any pressure
"Not thinking, yet not dreaming" - Do not use rationalization or logic, do not disappear in your own thoughts, your own imagination
"Ready for whatever may come" - Remain alert, remain aware, remain PRESENT!
"When the opponent (client) expands, I contract. When he contracts, I expand" - Just flow naturally
"When there is an opportunity, I do not hit (ask), it hits (asks) all by itself." - doing what you have to do when the time is right , asking what you have to ask when the time is right, letting the question come up by itself
"The enemy (client) has only images and illusions behind which he hides his true motives (challenges)" - everything the you as a coach see, is nothing but an illusion, a mirror in which you see yourself. You will not be able to see the true client, unless you destroy your mirrors, your illusions.
Bruce Lee - Timeless legend with timeless lessons - you will always be remembered.
